TOP FLEXIBLE NEW MPCV	02/01/2008
	Grontmij | Carl Bro (GMCB) are designing a new container vessel for Shipcraft Transport Ltd. intended for carrying special cargoes including packaged hazardous goods of all categories including explosives. As a special feature the vessels will be able to carry INF cargo. Shipcraft are specialists in the carriage of IMO Class 1 (explosives), project and general cargoes, and with the new vessels they will be able to transport INF cargo of Class 1 and 2 as well. The special container vessel – a Multi Purpose Cargo Vessel, MPCV – will be approx. 3,000 DWT with a capacity of approx. 228 TEU. In a small cargo hold forward of the main hold, a special container approved for INF cargo can be carried. GMCB is working closely together with Shipcraft representatives on the project. Four ships of the top flexible MPCV are on order with options for further 2 + 2. The ships are under construction at Huali Shipyard in Shanghai and the first ship is expected ready by the beginning of 2008. The ships will be built to Bureau Veritas class and registered under British flag.
