GRONTMIJ | CARL BRO DEVELOPS INNOVATION COURSES FOR THE GOVERNMENT

29/02/2008
Small and medium-sized companies in Denmark need to be better at innovating. The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation has therefore asked Grontmij | Carl Bro to develop and implement a number of innovation courses for these companies.

In concrete terms, the courses are aimed at graduates employed under the so-called knowledge pilot scheme – a scheme focused on getting more highly-trained individuals into small and medium-sized companies.

“The aim of the courses is to equip participants with tools that can help them in dealing with the innovation process at a practical level in the companies. During the course, we also ensure that the participants have the opportunity of forming close networks and giving each other professional feedback in small groups – even after the course has finished,” comments Joel Nielsen, management consultant at Grontmij | Carl Bro.

"Our ability to provide participants with knowledge from our entire palette, and thus offer more than just a project team has, of course, helped to guarantee us the task."

Provide your company with new knowledge

In total, there are three modules, each focused on a different theme. In the first module, the focus is on the role of highly-trained people in companies, especially how graduates tackle the interface between culture and work tasks in a small or medium-sized company. The second module emphasises the creative process and how best to handle it, while in the third module the course participants look at the question of how to continuously add new knowledge to a company.

“The exciting thing about this assignment for the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation is that we have the opportunity to assemble skills throughout Grontmij | Carl Bro, in order to give participants the right interdisciplinary mix. Our ability to provide participants with knowledge from our entire palette, and thus offer more than just a project team has, of course, helped to guarantee us the task,” says Joel, who was previously responsible for Grontmij | Carl Bro courses in innovation for unemployed graduates on behalf of job centres in Denmark.

Grontmij | Carl Bro has also just formed a partnership with the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) regarding the development of international project and process manager training. The aim is to develop a joint range of courses for companies and organisations with project and process management tasks across cultural boundaries.

The first course in innovation for knowledge pilots starts on 31 March 2008.
