It will be a solitary building with six stories and a floor space of about 8,000 m2, and it is intended for growth companies, teaching and course activities as well as administration and meeting activities. The building is to be located just south of VIA University College on Chr. M. Østergaards Vej in Horsens, Denmark.
Unique innovation environment
The vision is to create a dynamic and unique development, knowledge and innovation environment where education activities meet the business community and entrepreneurs.
Through a large amount of aid from the foundation Fonden Energi Horsens, it has become possible to optimise the functionality, computer technology and energy conditions of the building. Thus, the building appears as a marketing brand that can attract users and professional experts that want to experience the unique and innovative environment.
There are already plenty of ideas for how we can support the vision of creating the perfect surroundings for the innovation park. At a workshop with participants from VIA, professional experts, scientists and suppliers, the following ideas for activities and technologies were put forward, among others:
- Dynamic lighting that varies during the day and supports the energy level
- Use of Magicfoils for demand-controlled separation of premises
- Visible energy consumption through energy barometers and other indicators of energy consumption
- Use of TAG technology – everyone is provided with a TAG, which makes it possible for the house to act according to where people are and what they are doing.
Together with the building owner, the project group is now going to identify the initiatives that should be included in the upcoming work.
