ERITREA, ERITREAN PORTS REHABILITATION PROJECT

Phase 1:
- Rehabilitation and extension of two general purpose berths at 8.5 m and 12 m water depth, with approx.. 300 m fully equipped quay constructed of steel sheet piling and concrete superstructures, and including dredging of harbour basin and land reclamation.
- Rehabilitation and upgrading of 5 ha of the port area to establish a modern container and multi-purpose terminal, including access roads, concrete block and tarmac aprons, marchalling area and technical installations.
- Review of detailed design and bidding documents.
- Prequalification of bidders.
- Bid opening, bid evaluation, contract negotiations and preparation of contract documents.
- Project management, contract administration and supervision, acting as the engineer according to FIDIC.
- Training of Employer's staff through counterparts.
- Follow-up during defects liability period.
Phase 2:
- Demolition of old buildings
- Rehabilitation and upgrading of access roads and aprons with pavements of heavy duty concrete blocks including drainage works and lighting
- Service ducts with installations
- Rehabilitation of exisitng crane rail foundations combined with new piled crane rails foundations
- Electrical works for cranes
- New crown wall and new reefer stations
- Repair of water tower including mechanical and electrical works
- Preparation of detailed design and bidding documents
- Prequalification of bidders
- Bid opening, bid evaluation, contract negotiations and preparation of contract documents.
- Project management, contract administration and supervision, acting as the engineer according to FIDIC.
- Training of Employer's staff through counterparts.
- Follow-up during defects liability period.
