MOZAMBIQUE, XAI-XAI TO INHAMBANE 110 KV TRANSMISSION LINE

As an integrated part of a long term co-operation between Denmark and Electricidade de Mocambique, the state-owned power utility, Danida was supporting a strengthening of the power supply to Inhambane, the capital of Inhambane Province some 400 km North East of Maputo. .
The project includes construction of the 110 kV transmission line (steel lattice tower) from Xai-Xai to Lindela (265 km), new substation at Lindela with 110/33 kV transformer, and 33 kV sub-transmission lines to Inhambane and Maxixe (70 km).
The Contracts were baserd on FIDIC Conditions of Contract
For this project Grontmij | Carl Bro International in joint venture with Balslev Consulting Engineers (Danish) and Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) provide services including:
- Surveys;
- Geotechnical investigations;
- De-mining expertise;
- Conceptual design;
- Outline design and technical specifications;
- Tender documents (turn-key based on Yellow FIDIC);
- Assistance in tendering, evaluation, and contracting;
- Contract management and supervision; training and claims management including Engineer's decision on disputes.
Further, the services include an assessment of the demand- supply situation in the Southern Mozambique Region and elaboration of a power system development proposal.
