LEBANON, INVESTMENT PLANNING PROGRAMME (IPP)	11/10/2005
	The project is one of six management support consultancy (MSC) modules that make up the Investment Planning Programme (IPP) for Lebanon, which is sponsored ty the EC. The primary objective is to provide technical assistance to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Directorate of Roads at the Ministry of Public Works so that Lebanon’s road infrastructure can be managed in a more efficient manner in terms of planning, budgeting, programming, design, construction, maintenance and environmental impact assessment. The services provided by Grontmij | Carl Bro include: Development and implementation of a Road Maintenance Management System including sustainable administrative and organisational arrangments. Assistance in negotiations with donors and private investors regarding financing of the RRP. Development and implementation of Management Information Systems at the Directorate of Roads (DOR) for the planning and monitoring of contracts under the programme. Training of managers, engineers and technicians to carry out their various functions in the Directorate of Roads, including applicaiton of new equipment, IT-systems and procedures. Preparation of job descriptions, procedure manuals, guidelines and new testing and quality control procedures at DOR
