Tanzania, Technical Assistance to the Strengthening of Environmental Management in the Road Sector To strenghen the environmental management in the road sector in Tanzania (part 2 of Danida funded activities within the Road Sector Programme Support.) Improved capacity in environmental activities to improve environmental assessment and management in the roads sector by Ministry of Works, Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) and other sector stakeholders. (14-10-2005) Denmark, Environmental Asessment (EIA) of new Highway West of Copenhagen The objective of the project is to make a strategic assesment of the environmental impact of different alignments (with focus on 6 alignments) of 30 km new Highway in the ¡§Frederikssundfingeren¡¨ vest of Copenhagen, and identify the alignment with the least impact on the environment. (14-10-2005) Eastern Europe, Capacity Building in Implementation of the Environmental Acquis at the Local and Regional Level The overall objective is to develop the ability of local and regional authorities to effectively implement environmental legislation, particularly in the domains of EIA and IPPC. This will be done through an approach that is tailored to the needs and conditions of each particular country, but also ensuring the possibility for countries to learn from the experiences of their neighbours. (14-10-2005) Denmark, Nysted Offshore Wind Farm Establishment of one of the first large-scale offshore wind farms in Denmark, comprising 72 Nos. 2.2 MW wind turbines. Rødsand is located southwest of Rødby in the Baltic Sea. With expert and editor assistance from Grontmij | Carl Bro, the EIA was concluded. Design basis for all types of foundation concepts, has been set by Grontmij | Carl Bro based on e.g. physical model test determining ice loads and wave loads on conical structures. Based on our earlier conceptual evaluations we performed detailed design of gravity-based foundations and input to tender documents for a Design & Construct Contract. We assisted in tender evaluation and provided expert assistance to the supervision during construction. (14-10-2005) Czech Republic, River basin management and pre-accession planning in the Czech water sector to meet the requirements of EU legislation The project was aimed at developing and organising the water sector in accordance with EU requirement and at implementing a river basin management plan and practise based on concepts represented in the forthcoming Water Framework Directive.
