Phase 1 (2001-2002) included preparation of a feasibility study for upgrading of water supply system of Borovichi (population approximately 60.000 persons), institutional development and preparation of a corporate plan. A priority investment project were implemented including equipment of four deep wells with submersible pumps, frequency converters and controls. A pilot study for reduction of water loss and new tariff system was implemented Phase 2 (2002-2004) included updating of the corporate plan, proposal for revised tariff system and assistance for hydraulic modelling. Procurement and delivery of deep well pumps for four new well fields, control systems, frequency converters, inter-connecting pipe works, pipe and fittings for 400 mm transmission main, main booster pumps, pipes and fittings for 9000 m PE distribution network and 8.000 house meters were implemented
The consultant supplied technical assistance for all the above activities Phase 1 (2001-2002 included an environmental baseline study, a demographic study, an energy saving study and preparation of a corporate development plan.
The technical study included preparation of a phased programme for upgrading of the system included a staged conversion from surface to groundwater and design of priority investment programme and preliminary design for investments in Phase II.
Phase 2 (2002-2004) included preparation of tender documents, specifications, tendering and award of contract and supervision of delivery of equipment by Danish contractor..
Furthermore the services included training activities, updating of the corporate plan, proposal for revised tariff system and assistance for hydraulic modelling
