In the Danish market, conditions for building have been favourable. Total building activities yielded an excellent result in 2007, but activities within infrastructure, water, environment, energy, GIS and industry have also contributed to the improved result.
After a period of lower demand for consulting services from certain parts of the Danish market in early 2007 as a result of the structural reform, the second half of the year showed a better market situation as regards environment, water and energy. A focus on initiatives to remedy the consequences of climatic change and reduce energy consumption for all our areas of expertise has yielded a good influx of orders from both public and private clients.
“We are experiencing a very great interest among our clients in thinking sustainability into projects and solutions.” The increased awareness of the effect of climatic change means that there is a “burning platform” demanding news lines of thinking. It is our ambition to help to ensure the future quality of life for people, which naturally requires us to take into account the consequences of climatic change whether working within building, infrastructure or industry," said CEO Birgit W. Nørgaard, Grontmij | Carl Bro.
To harmonise the operational and legal structures, a change has been made to the company structure within the Grontmij group. The consequences include the sale of its subsidiaries in Sweden and the UK by Grontmij | Carl Bro A/S Danmark to another company within the Grontmij group so that now Grontmij | Carl Bro A/S Danmark consists of parent company Grontmij | Carl Bro A/S and its remaining subsidiaries, located in Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Vietnam etc.
The annual report 2007 for parent company Grontmij | Carl Bro A/S will be published in May.
